A Better Tomorrow by Hong Kong filmmaker John Woo, is a highly influential and groundbreaking film. It was the first of a genre of action movies known as heroic bloodshed, characterized by stylish violence, graceful action, and recurring themes of brotherhood and loyalty. It does look a bit dated now after 25 years, however the film is still highly entertaining and worth watching just to see the ultra cool performance from Chow Yun Fat.
