I Stand Alone, Gaspar Noé's first full length film, is an incredibly detailed and unflinching glimpse into the mind of a deranged individual.  The tension builds as we watch the Butcher sink deeper and deeper into his desperate situation.  Light on actual dialogue, the film is narrated by the Butcher's internal monologue, capturing the emotion in every brutal and depressing thought.
