35 Shots of Rum is a drama directed by Claire Denis (White Material).  It is an intricate and heartfelt character driven film, centered around the residents of a Parisian apartment building.  With quiet restraint, Denis weaves the narrative ever so gracefully and within minutes, she fully immerses the viewer into the lives of the characters.

What I appreciated most was that this is a film that shows more than it tells.  Nothing is explained but all the details are there for one to piece together.  Simply a masterful little film, crafted with minimalism yet still full of depth.
