Genre: Fantasy
Director: Dennis Gansel
Starring: Karoline Herfurth, Nina Hoss, Jennifer Ulrich, Anna Fischer
Duration: 100 min.
Rating: 4.9/10

Summary:
A sect of seductive lady vampires hide out in the city's alternative clubs and enjoy the luxury and pleasures their attained immortality provides them.

We Are The Night is a German film directed by Dennis Gansel, known for his successful 2008 film The Wave.  Set in contemporary Berlin, it tells the story of a group of sexy female vampires who include Louise, the seductive blonde leader, Charlotte, a former silent film actress from the 20's, and Nora, a teenage raver chick.

Unfortunately, this one fails on almost every level and was obviously made to jump on the current vampire trend.  It does start off interestingly, but the story and scenario are weak, the action is run of the mill, and about the only thing it has going for it is some gorgeous cinematography.

Have you seen Chronos? That reminds my top vampire film of all time, tied with Thirst.

I'm not into modern vampire movies these days I'm into the old ones :D

I wanted to watch this one at cinema, but they didn't let me in, because I was not 16 yet. Good thing I watched "Due Date" instead - I bet it's better.

That one I have not seen, but I bet it is better too.

I had higher hopes for this one because I enjoyed Gansel's previous film Die Welle, and Berlin is a great setting for films.

I was mildly interested until your review, I'll give it a miss unless there's a lot of unneccesary nudity?

Looks pretty bad, I don't generally like vampire films anyway, although I though Let Me In was good and I'm looking forward to Jarmusch's upcoming one...

Nice review as always.

Indeed.

The director really trolled everyone here.  The only nudity in the film is a bunch of men showering in prison.  No joke.

I haven't heard about Jarmusch's new project, but I am really fond of his work, I'll watch anything he makes.
