Ooo, so pumped for Tree of Life!
Is that Maiwenn as in Maiwenn the ex-wife of Luc Besson ?
I didn't know she directed...
Interestign that Refn got Best Director, I've never been a big fan of his, I liked Bronson quite a lot but Valhalla Rising nearly bored me to death. I'll probably check out this new film of his though.
Yeah that's her, Maiwenn Le Besco.
I saw a clip of Refn's film and it does look pretty intense, but I am surprised that he won. I was hoping for Aki.
Yeah with all the buzz about her performance I'm surprised Tilda didn't win Best Actress.
The CST Prix Vulcain went to José Luis Alcaine, Lighting Technician, on Pedro Almodovar's The Skin I Live In
Looking forward to Tree of Life and Melancholia !
The Norwegian indie "Oslo, 31. august" also sounds promising, not sure if it was nominated at Cannes or not, Joachim Trier's first film "Reprise" is worth a look.
I don't really seem to care about the film festival, but they usually do highlight some good films to see eventually.
TERRY MALICK!!!! TERRY MALICK!!!!!! TERRY MALICK!!!!!!!! Oh man, I'm happy he won!!!! I'm still a bit miffed that "We Need to Talk About Kevin" didn't get anything. Hey, who got the Technical Prize?
great post!
I love foreign films! I'll have to check out some of these titles that I've never heard of! Thanks!
It opens June 17 in my city. I can't wait.
