Summary:

When We Leave, the directorial debut by Austrian actress Feo Aladag, is Germany's official selection for the 83rd Academy Awards.  It is a well crafted film highlighted by a magnificent performance from Sibel Kekilli.  Although the ending I felt was a bit heavy handed.

My mom would love this film. Moving across cultures was hard on her and she's still game for more - she moved from Myanmar to Singapore, and now she wants to move to the US. Mothers are amazing x_X

If you take requests on movies, I would recommend City of Lost Children. It's a great foreign film.

Ooo I do love German films. My favorite is Winter Sleepers, or really anything by Tom Tykwer :D
