IMDB

The Man Next Door, from directors Mariano Cohn and Gaston Duprat is the winner of Best Film at this year's Argentine Academy Awards as well as the World Cinema - Cinematography Award at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival.  It was filmed in and around the Curutchet House, a building in Buenos Aires famous for being the only residence in the Americas designed by Swiss architect Le Corbusier.  Very impressive camera work and framing, but with a highly unlikeable protaganist and a very simple story, this film would have been much better as a 30 minute short.

looks like a beautiful and thoughtful film. It would be good to get my family, as they are going through something like the same story right now.

Off the top of my head these two French films are excellent:

Joyeux Noël (2005) Christian Carion
Un conte de Noël (2008) Arnaud Desplechin

and a couple of not so Christmas-sy Christmas films

Brazil (1985) Terry Gilliam
Eyes Wide Shut (1999) Stanley Kubrick
