June brought visitors from 111 different countries |
Things are good on the blog side though, this month I reached 250 followers and at the time of writing this post, sit right on the cusp of 50,000 pageviews.
Thanks again to all the visitors and everyone who comes back, links, and comments frequently, I really appreciate all your support!
You may have also noticed a few new changes to my blog this past month. I added a cool featured post slideshow that spruces up the home page, a Google Custom Search that embeds search results neatly into the template, and also added a couple tabbed widgets for the sidebar to make more efficient use of the space there.
My proudest accomplishment though is the custom widgets I made. Not happy with the default recent and popular post widgets, I dusted off my old coding skills that I haven't used in years to create custom widgets that include my review scores and pageviews along with the post titles and thumbnails.
All of this customization inspired me to start a new blog titled Stupid Blog Tricks to document many of the things I've learned since I started blogging last September. It won't be updated as frequently as this one, but I just wanted a place to post things like Blogger how to's and other advice that doesn't exactly fit here. Right now I'm working on a step by step tutorial on how to duplicate my popular and recent posts widgets.
Anyone with any questions on how to implement a new idea on Blogger or tweak something in their template is encouraged to head over there, just post your questions in the comments and I'll be happy to lend a hand.

There has been some really good blog posts making the rounds this month, as well, and I am glad that you've given a shout-out to Stevee and Andy, too.
Congrats on your 250 followers and 50,000 pageviews as well! A really great achievement.

Thanks for the mention, and for your comments throughout my coverage! Glad you enjoyed it! Congrats on the milestones. 250 followers is huge. How did you attract so many, so quickly? Help! Haha. I'll check out your blogging tips too. Love that sidebar. Here's to a great July!
Sorry about the month and stuff, to be fair there's no one I know on a deep level that's had it good this month, even me. I'm also glad it's over.
Congrats on the make over, and thanks for making that blog. I'll actually follow it.
Thanks for being a loyal reader Tim!
And I wish I had your clever reviewing skills
Thank You Lesya! I think you have most of us beat with Twitter followers though.
Thanks GMB. Your GI Joe inspired banner is one of the best I've seen.
Thanks Cherokee, I hope I didn't leave out too many deserving links.
Cheers Custard! I'm glad Jack L. introduced me to your blog.
You're welcome!
Thanks for visiting Blorriepoes
Thanks Andy. That was some fine coverage. There's a couple reviews I avoided reading though because I want to see the films first.
As for my followers, I got them mostly by following and commenting on random blogs, and not necessarily film oriented ones. A lot of my followers aren't around anymore though, I just culled about 100 dead blogs (one's that haven't written a post in 6 months) from my Google Reader list.
You are welcome Banacek! Keep up the good work.
Thanks D4, I appreciate the comments, and the cool tunes. Well except for the last one
Congrats!!! :D

Congratulations on all your success so far! I've got to admit that this is by far the best designed film blog I've come across. Puts mine to shame! :)
Awesome month for you indeed! Congrats on all achievements of your blog! It's great.
Thanks you for the special congratulations! You're a star :)
Your coding is so great too. Wish I could be as talented as you!
Good to see that blogging has been good to you. I haven't got the patience to mess with blogger coding to much, so I'll be sure to check out your tricks blog. Thanks for the link to my blog. And I have to say I really enjoy yours, I am always looking for a good indie or foreign film, Hollywood cinema has to often left a bad taste in my mouth (maybe it was the $8 popcorn).
