This post is another reminder that I need to seek out more Canadian cinema. Hopefully get to see L Anyways on dvd in March. I have booked a ticket for a screening of Stories We Tell, look forward to that.
Wow, big night for Rebelle (or War Witch). I haven't seen it but its really left great impressions across the globe. Great coverage!
Yep, lots of interesting films being made here right now. When's the screening? I'll be looking out for your review. I'm almost certain you'll love it.
Yeah huge night, but it comes as no real surprise after racking up acclaim and awards all over the place. It's quite a heavy watch, but I highly recommend it if you get the chance.
Thanks for the info especially about Rebelle!
We haven't had Rebelle here yet, but I've been dying to see it. This is a rather impressive list of films all up though, I have to say. Looks like this might be a really good festival to follow its lists. Do they have a foreign film section, and did Argo win it? I also like that they have a highest box office gross award - it saves those sorts of films cluttering up the other awards that seems to happen some times with other award ceremonies.
Rebelle really swept, that's cool. Kinda irks me more towards it. Also, was really not expecting to see Resident Evil anywhere on here. What a surprise
in April, so I hope I like it as much as you did.
