I'm the LAMB of the Month!

Today I'm taking a break from my usual posting schedule to announce something that is quite exciting and a honor for me to be a part of. Just this past weekend, I was selected by Joel Burman—a fellow blogger and film producer who is also the recently appointed Shepherd of the LAMB (Large Association of Movie Blogs)—as the very first recipient of the LAMB of the Month Award, in recognition of some of my recent contributions to this great blogging community.

For those who have never heard of the LAMB, its the largest directory of movie blogs on the internet, open to any movie blog that's at least 3 months old, with approximately 1200 current members—though as I've recently discovered by paying a visit to almost every single one, sadly a number of them are now dead or dormant blogs—first created by Dylan from the blog Man I Love Films. I feel greatly honored for having been singled out of this large group of fine bloggers and chosen as January's LAMB of the Month.

Thank you, Joel!

While I have your attention, I'd like to take this opportunity to highlight some of the best blogs I discovered for the first time while going through the list:

Noir of the Week - If you are at all into film-noir then this is the blog for you. It's into its seventh year of doing just what the title says, presenting a different well written noir review each week.

Retrospace - With 3 million plus pageviews and counting, this blog hardly needs my endorsement, but what an amazing space of retro goodness it is. If you are looking for a great shot of nostalgia juice, go check it out!

The Seventh Art - A very well written blog with a strong focus on international cinema—my favorite kind—as well as some fascinating screenshot essays.

Action Flick Chick - A cool place run by a cool chick featuring news, interviews, and reviews on action flicks, horror films, and the like.

Chained and Perfumed - A pop culture blog with nice simple posts of classic images. Sometimes you don't need any words to say a lot.

Riku Writes - What first got my attention was his very similar to mine 'About Me' statement. What kept me reading were the insightful words, not so much reviews but interesting general observations on film.

Goregirl's Dungeon - One quick visit to this blog is all it takes to be convinced it's run by a passionate horror fanatic. Not to mention she's also one of the few film bloggers that I've come across from my home town of Vancouver.

The Scandy Factory - An unapologetically R-rated assortment of various rare VHS era 'gems' in the form of YouTube clips, animated GIFs, and magazine and box cover scans. Awesome stuff!

There were actually a few more but I'm selfishly holding onto them for a later post. Anyhow, there should be something here for everyone, give them a visit if you have the time.

Thank you. Though, I didn't actually go through the entire list of 1200. Only the first 800 or so. A lot of the original Lambs had already been retired.

Congrats on being named LAMB of the month! I attempted to look through all those LAMB blogs once, I managed to get past A and B I think, but not much more than that, so well done. Will have to take a look at those blogs you found...
