2013 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival - Award Winners

The 48th edition of the Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad) International Film Festival has now come to an end, with the gala closing awards ceremony held Saturday (July 6, 2013) evening in the Grand Hall of the luxurious Thermal Spa Hotel.

The winner of this year's Crystal Globe for Best Feature Film was Le grand cahier / A nagy füzet, a Hungrarian/German/Austrian/French production directed by János Szász. An adaptation of the controversial first novel by Hungarian writer Agota Kristof about 13-year-old twins who are forced to endure the final years of WWII with their cruel grandmother.

I.. I actually feel really intrigued with the Crystal Globe winner. That era, living with a cruel grandmother.. It sounds like an engaging watch.

I too am intrigued by the Crystal Globe winner. I've also just seen A Field in England, and it's not perfect, but it's the first film I've seen from this year that has wowed me.
