White Night Wedding is the 5th film directed by Baltasar Kormákur (101 Reykjavik) and was Iceland's official submission to the 2009 Academy Awards. It is a drama set on the small island of Flatey off the coast of Northern Iceland, during the summer solstice where it is daylight for 24 hours.
Kormákur has made some fine movies, but unfortunately this isn't one of them. While the setting is incredibly picturesque and there are some very funny moments, the narrative is too choppy with the overuse of flashbacks, and it seems he couldn't decide whether to make a serious drama or a whimsical comedy. So everything is thrown together resulting in a jumbled mess.

Thans for the head ups my friend.
An interesting title.
Thanks for the warning. The scenery looks nice, though. A bit bleak, but nice.
Does it have English Subtitles?
Sounds okay, but with your view on it I'm a bit skeptical.
Out of curiosity, do you know many languages? It seems like you would be a polyglot since you have such international tastes in cinema :)
Yes it does.
I'm fluent only in English and French, and have some rudimentary Spanish and Cantonese, meaning I can order food and ask for directions, but still need subtitles to watch a film.
Mostly I just enjoy watching stories from different cultures and perspectives.
