Summary:

When Lea’s father dies, her troubled and vulnerable mother goes back to her former lover Ole, a heavy drinking brutal man who casts a dark shadow over their life. Lea turns to drugs, and when she has a baby she desperately wants to protect her child, even if it means making an impossible decision.

Angel from Margreth Olin, is Norway's official selection to the 83rd Academy Awards.  The film was originally intended to be a documentary about her friend who changed her mind and backed out of the project, so Olin remade the film with an actress.  An honest and moving film dealing with a difficult subject while showing a real warmth and empathy throughout, provoking an astonishing array of emotions.
