Werner Herzog's latest feature, My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done is a stylish and poetic psychological drama. Strange and sometimes surrealistic, the film was beautifully shot using the spectacular Red One digital camera. Another wonderful example of creative film-making from an unconventional director who refuses to stick to the tried and true.

Great review, love the screencaps. I've always liked French films, and now is my chance to learn about them and give them a try, through your blog! Thanks :)
Welcome. I hope you find something you like.
WERNER HERZOG! <3 <3 <3
I read an article once where they talked about how his films were mostly about overwhelming obsession. This movie seems to fit that...but I've only seen Aguirre so I'm a Herzog noob :)
PS. I plan to hunt down Grizzly Man for Christmas :D And that sounds hilarious in retrospect lol
That does seem to be a very common theme in his films. Then again, humans are obsessive creatures.
Yeah definitely see Grizzly Man if you can, it is quite fascinating. So are his other recent 'documentaries'. I especially enjoyed 'Wheel of Time'. I should eventually make a post about it.
